This week we are moving towards another way to model addition and subtraction of integers. We will be using the two color chip method. Students will be able to use this model to gain a better understanding of why additive inverses combine to make zero.
This YouTube video explains the process your child will learn. Instead of yellow (for positive) we use an open circle on our paper, and instead of a red (for negative) we use a filled in circle.
