Greetings. This week, there will be one last graded writing assignment: a compare and contrast essay explaining two poems written by Harlem Renaissance era poets. Day one they will receive graphic organizers and the poems. I will read them over with the class and we will discuss the poems in depth. Students will want to fill in their graphic organizers. On day two they will type it. Day three will be used to tie up loose ends, finish Digital Readworks articles, etc. On the last full day of the week I have to give the kids a district benchmark assignment.
