This week we will continue our studies with slope. Last week we learned how to create a line given the slope (rise/run or fall/run) and discussed what a positive and negative slope look like. We then were able to look at a linear equation in y=mx+b form (slope-intercept form) and state the slope and y-intercept. We will then move on to stating the equation of a given line on a coordinate plane. We will have an assessment over these concepts mid-week.
ADVANCED CLASS: We will continue our group work with scientific notation. This will help students estimate lengths of everyday objects, convert between decimal and scientific notation and make comparisons of the size of numbers expressed in both decimal and scientific notation. We will then move on to solving problems that include numbers written in scientific notation. |
