Howdy, folks. I hope you've had a nice weekend. This week in my class students will compose their personal narrative essays. Each student has been issued a new laptop for classroom use, and will submit his or her essay digitally to me by the end of the week. I will distribute a checklist & rubric to each young scholar.
Tuesday, I will give the second vocabulary test. Students must be able to use the words listed in my previous Weebly post in their own sentences. They need to include enough context clues to prove that they understand the meaning and proper usage of the word.
Answers to Text Dependent Questions on the first 6 chapters of THE OUTSIDERS are due this week. I did tell students that these questions need to be submitted to me Monday, as I will be putting a grade in the book over the course of the week. Any questions not submitted by the time I enter grades will result in an automatic MISSING (which equals 'F').
Finally, I am entering the first writing grade for JOURNALS this week. Students know they are to have a composition book in which to record all bell ringers and journal topic responses, and they know I intend to grade these periodically.
Thanks for checking in. -Mr. Nettles
