This week: Monday is the vocabulary test. Too many kids were away on the band trip this past Friday, so I had to postpone it. Students must use 10 of the words in original sentences.
Tuesday, those who have yet to finish their compare/contrast essays will get a chance to do so. I will go over essays with the students who have already submitted theirs.
For the rest of the week, we will practice for the final standardized test, and we will begin working on interview projects.
Thanks! -Mr. Nettles
Early this week, students will write compare/contrast analytical essays about two literary texts. Most will be working with William Blake's "The Lamb" and "The Tyger."
These essays are going to be graded. We will conduct some writing workshop sessions during the week to look at each student's work more closely and give scholars another chance to improve writing skills.
At the end of the week, there will be a vocabulary test.
Although, TN Ready has disappeared, there will still be a standardized test on the reading & language skills covered throughout the year. This assessment will be given at the end of NEXT week, and it will count in Gradespeed.
Please discuss the possibility of your child taking advanced courses next year. Thanks!
